THE COMPANY AND OUR EXPERIENCE My name is George Rogers, President & CEO of Mars Space Construction, LLC, (MSC) a company which I founded in 2019 in Montgomery, Texas, United States. My wife, Cheryl and I have since then moved to a small town called Conroe about 1 hour North of Houston, Texas. We live within a day trip to SpaceX. I have over 45 years of Engineering, Design, and Construction Experience in Offshore, Oil & Gas, Commercial, and Residential Developments. We are going to use my experience combined with that of an Architect, Giorgio Gaviraghi of Italy, with 54 Years of Experience doing Worldwide Projects to move MSC into the Space Industry at a PACE only surpased by SpaceX. We are positioning MSC to engineer, design, and construct a Sustainable Settlement on Mars NOW, using existing or modified technologies that exist NOW. THE MARS SETTLEMENT PROJECT - Earth Analog, Starship Transit from Earth to Mars, Mars Settlement. To understand our project, you first must understand what an Analog is. It is an Enviornment built (Analog) on Earth to simulate an Original Enviornment (Space Station, Moon, and Mars). The Analog is cheaper, easier, and safer to build than the Enviornment of Space. This is the reason and purpose to build analogs. There are close to 24 Space Enviornment Analogs Around the World at this time with others one being proposed by every country around Earth wanting to get into the Space Industry. The basis for our design is create a Modular Approach that would be made of Starship-Caro Type Rockets (35). These will be used for Storage Tanks with internal equipment, pumps, exchangers, filters, separators, and piping within the Cargo Module of the Starship-Tanker. All maintenance of internal equipment and piping can be done in a shirt sleeve enviornment. They aslo will include other module packages that include: habitat, greenhouses, hospital, power generation, food storage, water purification plant, science labs, equipment storage, etc. The Definition Phase of "Mars Settlement Project" by MSC including searchs for Space Analogs Worldwide. We were surprised to find that all analogs had the same wrong things in common. Locations of existing Space Analogs were to remote and expensive to get to. Crews were to small and do not represent a Real Functioning Crew and are limited from 3-7 crew members. The sensor technology used by the I.S.S. as a minimum is not being used by almost none of analogs. Most of the analogs are just going over basis sciences that we have had since the Apollo era and are just now beginning to updating them. The missions have been limited from a few weeks to a maximum of 3-4 months for most of them. We only found one Space Analog that we could use as a design basis and it was the Russian Mars 500. The First Phase of our Project we are calling "Texas Mars Analog Project", and it would be an Earth based Analog including three (3) elements. 1) A Rocket Landing and Launch Pad for 5 Rockets with surrounding room for Short Term Tank Farm made from 5 Starship-Tankers. It still gets larger. 2) We have to build a Liquid Methanol and Oxygen Refinery to produce the Gas Methanol from the CO2 based Martian Atmosphere. When the Methanol is extracted from the atmosphere it is gas and has to be converted to a liquid form to be used as fuel. It has to be converted to liquid Methanol and Stored in a Starship-Tanker before loading into Starship like in Boca Chica. The Methanol Plant also has to extract oxygen from ice /water located in the Region on Mars close to the settlement. A Liquid Methanol and Oxygen Refinery for generating purified Methanol and Oxygen and a Tank Farm for long term storage and short term storage will take a minimum of 20 Starship-Cargo. Storage is for gaseous vapors of Methanol, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen and purified Water all at different temeratures and pressures. Storage Tanks for the Liquids of Methanol and Oxygen will remain empty or purged until it is time for a launch. 3) The Mars Settlement made from 10 Starship-Cargo ships landing in a settlement layout. This provides for a Construction Crew of 30 with iving and working conditions in the process modules from the Starships they landed in. The Construction Crew will connect the Starships with pipe hoses rigid and flexible wiring for communication, power, water, air, and lighting. Crews will have to do controlled EVA's from multiple Starships and connect them in some method to be determined. All operations and maintenance will be done in a shirt sleeve enviornment within the Starships. Mirroring what we intend to build on Mars in every way possible. The analog will be for a crew of 30 on a 24/7 rotation. The scale of our Analog is 5 times the size of the Russian Mars 500 Analog in scope. But the overall size of the project is a lot larger. The missions will last 2-3 years at a time with individuals from groups rotating in/out as Starships and rotation of Crews are scheduled. Starship Cargo Modules of the analog will include Command & Control Center simulated Rocket Launch Pads, Launch Tank Farm, Propellant Tank Farm, Power Plant Module, Oxygen Process Plant Module, Habitat, Medical Facility, Greenhouse, Water Process Plant Module, Science Labs, Farming Module, and others. Everything needed to survive will be grown, processed, created or manufactured from within the analog. There will be an offsite engineering & research center for 24/7 monitoring included in the budget for the analog. The Goal is to Engineer, Design, Fabricate (Earth - Texas Mars Analog Project), Construct Mars settlement, and Operate a Sustainable Settlement on Mars. To do this successfully we are approaching it like any other project on Earth. MSC began developing engineering & construction design codes for Space Projects over 2 years ago before I founded MSC. We located a design study by NASA which was "Space Settlements. A Design Study" for the Moon. It was decided to use the NASA"Design Study for the Moon" as a Basis for the MSC Design Study for Mars. So we began preparing a detailed design study and it is titled “Mars Space Settlements, A Design Study". The study still needs completion but our research has shown me that everything is technically feasible with existing or modified technologies which will allow MSC to move faster than other companies. MSC is taking the approach of building a Mars settlement using technologies from the accumulation of experience gained from Apollo, Soyuz, Skylab, Shuttle, and I.S.S. programs. MSC has already created a Project Library called MSC– Reference Library with 323 books with 31,960 pages of text and made available online. The only technology that has to be finalized is the Starship Program which requires new rocket technology already in development by SpaceX. MSC is at this time designing various Starship Design Types of Tanker-Cargo, Crew, Lunar, and Deep Space configurations. To Engineer, Design, Fabricate, and do the Construction described above. It will require purchasing 43 Starships over the period of 10-15 years. The Purchase order would include: 37 Starship-Cargo Type, and 6 Starship-Crew Types. The estiamted price for an individulal Starship would be $20,000,000 each and it will take 43 Starships of mutilple types. Purchase Order to Puchase the Starships to be built and commute to Mars and stay would be an estimate of $ 860,000,000. I hope I have Addressed most of your Questions.
